Subaru customers will call in saying their parking lights are staying on after the key is shut off.  Some models had a rocker switch on top of the steering column which allowed you to activate the parking lights when the key was off.  This was made available for warning on coming drivers of a car parked near the edge of the road at night.  It was easy to turn this switch on accidently if you were "dusting" off the dash and steering column.  Simply flip the switch the other way and the park lights will go out.
